He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence R. Smith Sr and Alene Smith. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine "Tina" Smith; children, Chet, Candy (Stanley), Chad; grandkids, Michael M (Darla), Kassi, Chad (Gabbie), Courtney (Eric), Katie, Michael H (Lupe), Robert (Christiana); numerous great-grandkids.
Lawrence liked hunting, fishing, and drag racing. He retired from CSX Railroad and loved his family and friends.
A funeral service for Lawrence will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Florida. Interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
