Keya wanted her life celebrated upon of her death because as she said she knew where she was going and how wonderful it would be. Keya loved God and looked forward to the day she could see His face. We will follow her wishes and celebrate her life.
First and foremost, Keya was funny, loving and caring it was so easy to trick her because she was very gullible which we so loved about her. One can only imagine the number of jokes we played on her. Young people were drawn to her crazy comical personality and enjoyed being around her. She often mispronounced words leading to huge memorable belly laughs. When we were all together, it was nothing but a laugh fest. We are a very loving family and we were taught to always take care of one another. Keya being was our "Baby Sister". She did not like us calling her that as she became older but that is exactly how we saw her and knowing she could not stop us from using that, she would just give in. You see from the time she was born she was always Daddy's favorite. She was never allowed to go anywhere alone. At least one of us always had to be with her. This sometimes posed a challenge during her teenage years because she wanted to go to a party and our brothers wanted to go elsewhere. Of course, they devised a plan so they would all return home together.
Growing up, Keya was a tattle tale. We would bribe her with money, and she would still tell Daddy knowing we could not retrieve our money from her. We all laugh every time we talked about her tattle telling adventures. We also gave her a nickname……STPHG. Close family will know what this means.
Keya was artistic and talented. She made greeting cards that were so beautiful, people often framed their card, and many look forward with anticipation to ordering and receiving them. She would often wake up in the middle of the night because she had thought for a design. Her design table was always set up and she would add a piece at a time until she felt it was finished. Only then would she put the card together.
We were all taught by our Mother to give to others in need regardless of how much you had. Even in her death Keya is giving the gift of sight to someone who needs it. She was always willing to go the extra mile to help others if she was able.
Our "Baby Sister" Keya is achieving her deepest desire of seeing the face of God and we are left to celebrate her life. We deeply love our Keya and know many others loved her also. We miss you Keya Marie Conley as you rest in Paradise.
Keya lead a life full of love. We are certain people have many memories of her and we welcome you to share then. We would enjoy reading them and envisioning her presence in every single story.
