Ken was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Morton and Ora Jean Sangster who immigrated from Nova Scotia. Ken grew up in Rhode Island and later Shelton, Connecticut with his siblings Morton, Richard, Earl, Joan, Jean, Janet, Judy, Joyce and Jimmy. He is survived by his wife Marianne of 32 years, his two children, Kenny and Tracy, as well as 4 grandchildren Devin, Del, Emily and Nathaniel and many nieces and nephews.
Ken served in the United States Army as an MP in Korea during the Vietnam War. He worked as a machinist for many years for Avco, Allied Signal and Honeywell.
Once Ken retired, he made his longtime dream come true. He moved to Florida where he enjoyed working outside in the yard and tinkering in the garage with his tools.
Ken was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also enjoyed watching the UCONN women’s basketball team. He loved being surrounded by family. He always looked forward to the Sangster family reunion and annual Thanksgiving gatherings.
Ken had a big love of all animals, especially dogs. He owned many dogs over the years and will currently be sorely missed by Buster.
Ken’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Please share a funny story or favorite memory in remembrance and celebration of Ken’s life.
