Joyce was a Tampa native. She was one of three children born to the late Irene Dempsey and Joseph Edward II. She was predeceased by her parents.
She was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Chamberlain High School, Tampa in 1958. She attended college at the University of Tampa. Joyce worked with GTE/Verizon as a supervisor, retiring in 1997.
Joyce was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile. She attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church. But most all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She was always an active participant in her nieces and nephews lives as well as her grand nieces and nephews. Her family describes her as a giver, caring for others and always selfless.
Joyce is survived by; brother Joseph "Edward" Dempsey III, and his wife Helen, sister Frances Bowyer, her two nieces, one nephew, and eight grand nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Joyce will be held 10 am Saturday, December 16, 2023 from Garden Of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610
