John Geraci Jr. (Pap Pap) passed away in his Wesley Chapel, Florida home in the early morning of August 15, 2018 at the age of 69. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda D. Geraci, his daughter and her son Angela M. Geraci and Carlo A. Desimone, and his son and daughter-in-law John D. Geraci and Wendy M. Geraci and their children Gianna A. and Rocco A. Geraci.
John was born in Altoona, PA and grew up in Tyrone, PA. He is the son of John and Rose Geraci (Turiano), and is survived by his four siblings, Joe Geraci, Julia Gombach, Mary Ann Politza and Josephine Snyder and their families.
John brought life and laughter into any room he was in, bringing levity to every situation and he wasn’t afraid to use “shock humor” to get people to laugh. He was a loving and selfless man who always put his family first and he enjoyed spending time with them doing his favorite thing; sitting in his chair watching every TV show imaginable. He was a man of simple tastes, albeit picky tastebuds, and loved his fast food, Heinz Ketchup, East End hoagies, Hires root beer, various chocolate and sugary candies, balancing it all off with fruit, oversized fruit. He was an avid Pennsylvania sports fan, passionate about the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and Penn State football.
John retired from the Air Force after 24 years of service and continued to work after retirement, most recently at a VA Clinic in New Port Richey, Florida, where he provided IT support to the clinics staff. At work and in life, he was a reliable and dependable man that answered the bell whenever called upon. He will leave a big void in the life of his surviving family, especially for his wife Linda to whom John was her love, her world and her life.
Services will be held at 2:00 on August 18, 2018 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, located at 3207 W Bearss Ave., Tampa, Florida 33618.
