Jim was preceded in death by his loving parents, Homer W. Young and Mary Ann Young. He is survived by his loving family, siblings, Doyle Young (Lou), Jenny Creemers (Rob), nieces; Rachel, Lindsay, Leala and Shelby and five great-nieces and nephews.
Jim was very close to his family and to his friends. He had a very quirky sense of humor, enjoyed sports, especially baseball, as well as movies, reading and spending time with his Facebook friends. He always had a smile on his face and always seemed to have a new joke to tell us. His easy going relaxed nature made him a pleasure to be around.
Jim was a warm friendly man, who made his mark on the world not with grand gestures or fancy titles, but by the basic goodness and generosity of his character, by the quality of his involvement with his fellow man, and how he brought out these qualities in others.
There were many wonderful aspects to Jim’s life, and many ways that he touched our lives. He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, a generous uncle, cousin and a great friend. Now that he has passed away, of course there is emptiness and pain, but in many ways, the gift of Jim’s life is still here with us. He lives on in our memories and stories, and in what all of us have become because of him.
Graveside services will take place 10:00am, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa where he will be laid to rest next to his parents, Homer and Mary Ann Young.
Jim will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
