Wiggs, James 91, of Tampa, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 28th, at his home. Born in Ailey, GA, he moved here in 1926 when he was three years old. He graduated from King High School and joined the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon his return, he worked for Tampa Electric for 38 years. He was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. James loved jazz music and was a major contributor to the USF Jazz Club. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Emziah Wiggs; grandson, Herbert Greene III; parents, Jim Wiggs and Viola Gordon; brothers, Wilbert and David Gordon. He is survived by his children: Michael James (Richie) Wiggs, Deriek Wiggs; sister, Evelyn Wiggs; grandchildren: Erica Wiggs-Collins, Tiffany Franklin, Kimberly V. Wiggs, Robyn Wiggs, Johnny Williames, Michael James D. (Merarie) Wiggs; and Brittany M. Wiggs; Gabrielle E. Wiggs; 16 great grandchildren; and his beloved pet, Penny. A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 5th from 3-5pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home 605 S. MacDill Ave. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6th at 11:00am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
