Ochoa, Irene Cynthia Mongiovi, 77, of Tampa, passed away August 8, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Isabel Mongiovi as well as her brothers, Richard “Dickie” Mongiovi and Ronald “Ronnie” Mongiovi. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Onelio Ochoa and her three daughters, Desiree’ Ochoa Gonzalez (Lou), Yvette Ochoa Barcena (Ron), and Jennifer Ochoa-Rowland (Tyler). Her pride and joy were her 8 grandchildren, Megan Ramos (Elvin), Ronnie Barcena, Devon, Tracy, and Dillon Gonzalez, Tyler, Troy and Isabel Ochoa-Rowland as well as her two precious great-grandsons, Noe and Dominic Ramos, many cousins, nephews, nieces, and many wonderful friends.
Irene graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961 where she was captain of the cheerleading squad. She also loved to dance and won numerous dance competitions in the Tampa area with her dance partner, Dickie Garcia. She was also a member of the Tampa Junior Women’s Club and participated every year in their “Follies” talent show. Her dream was always to be a Rockette!
Graveside Service will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4202 E. Lake Ave., Tampa. Due to the current Covid pandemic we ask that you wear a mask as we have several immune compromised family members.
