She was a graduate of King High School in Tampa, Florida. Hazel loved the Lord, loved life, and loved others. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her genuine smile and infectious laugh brightened the hearts of everyone around her. Her favorite pastimes included working in her yard tending to her beautiful plants, embroidering with her sewing machine, and spending time with her family.
Hazel married her high school sweetheart, David Keating, on November 10, 1963. She and David, along with their two sons and their families, built a beautiful family together and created a lifetime of precious moments and lasting memories.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Claudia Greenwood. Hazel is survived by her husband, David Keating; sons, John (Tina) Keating and George (Kim) Keating; grandchildren John David (Rebecca) Keating, Kevin (Courtney) Keating, Lydia (Chi) Houston, Anna (Brian) Parsons, Cayla (Jim) Contreras, Joel Keating, Ethan Keating, and Emmalee Keating; great-grandchildren Nolan and Everly Keating, Ila Houston, and Rowan Parsons; and sisters Betty Loerke, and Peggy (Ron) Tucker.
Though she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, we hold fast to the promise that we will see her again in heaven. Titus 2:13-14, “Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.”
A Visitation for Hazel will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. A Funeral Service will occur Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories.
