George Edward Ward Jr. passed away at home on June 21st, 2022 at the age of 75. He was a Tampa native who joined the United States Air Force after graduating from the University of South Florida. After earning his pilot’s license and serving his country in Vietnam, he began his career as a commercial airline pilot where he met his wife, Darla. He loved his cats, baseball, music and staying connecting with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ignazio and Carmela Zambito; parents, George Edward Sr. and Carolyn Zambito Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Newman; son, Ryan Christopher (Lisa) Ward; granddaughters, Abagayle Loraine and Sydney Ryan Ward; sister, Sarah (Betty) Ward Graves and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services and Military Honors will be held at 11am on Monday, June 27th at Blount & Curry Carrollwood Funeral Home located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618
