Gary Kent Snow, CWO3 (USA Retired), passed away July 20, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by loving family and he no longer suffers from cancer or Parkinson’s disease. He was born September 20, 1937 in Columbus, OH. Gary entered the United States Air Force in 1958 and Army in 1977. He began his Air Force career on the flight line with two tours in Vietnam in the 1960’s. His favorite memories of the military included him being stationed in Germany for 8 years. Gary graduated from New York University with an Associate’s degree in between that time. Later, his greatest career accomplishment was that he graduated from Fort Rucker, AL Flight School in 1981. He was the oldest Warrant Officer to graduate from flight school. In 1985 he retired from the armed forces after 27 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed traveling Europe, camping throughout the United States and riding motorcycles with the “Faith Riders”. Gary was a member of MOAA, AMVETS, and Florida Sheriffs Association for 51 years. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Tampa. Jesus and his two daughters were waiting for him.
Gary is preceded in death by his daughters, Stacy Snow Kolacki and Leslie Snow-Gargus; parents, Kenneth and Janet Snow.
He is survived by the love of his life for 58 years, Vivian Snow; grandchildren, Brent Beasley, Brooke Beasley, Dayna Kolacki, Melissa (Tom) Ward, Leslie Kolacki, Heather Kolacki; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Paulette Greco and Gayanne Chaffee.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, August 4th from 1pm to 2pm at Blount and Curry Macdill Chapel, 605 S. Macdill Ave, Tampa. A memorial service will begin at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Moffitt Cancer Center, USF Parkinson’s, Florida Youth Ranch, or Military Organization of your choice.
