Frank Basile, 85, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Land O’ Lakes, FL. on Friday, December 13, 2024. He was born on May 12, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to parents, Frank Basile Sr. and Jean Profetta Basile. He attended school in Brooklyn and then became a truck driver for Star Industries in Syosset, New York. Frank loved boating, fishing, traveling, and being with his family. His favorite expression was that a bad day of fishing was better than any good day at work. He had a loving way about him and a beautiful smile; everyone who knew Frank loved him. If he had an epitaph inscribed, it would read as follows: "Gone Fishing with the Angels."
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sherry McQuade Basile and three children, Frank Basile (Linda) of East lslip, New York; Michael Basile (Jennifer) of Bohemia, New York and daughter, Barbara Kearney (John) of Central lslip, New York. He also had one step-son, Eric McQuade of Waverly Hall, Georgia. Frank had six grandchildren, Frankie Basile III, Nicole Steban, Vanessa Boser, Brett Basile, Tyler Kearney, and Liam Basile. He also had three step-grandchildren, Mya, Sofia, and Isaac McQuade. He also had two great grandchildren, Rylee Grace, and James Joseph Boser; sisters, Elaine Ellis (Bill), and Grace Bringas.
Frank was preceded in death by his late wife: Rose Marie Basile; his parents, Jean and Frank Basile; brother, Santo Basile and sister, Camille Kelly.
There will be a Celebration of Life scheduled for a later date in New York in the springtime. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vitas Healthcare of Pasco or another hospice provider of your choice.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my love.
