Frances Stephany

Frances Stephany, age 89, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Frances was born April 15, 1930 in Rochester, New York. She graduated from the Eastman Dental Dispensary in 1950 and began a career as a dental hygienist. She married Edward in 1951 and her family and friends were her passion and delight. She was a lifelong Catholic and a willing and enthusiastic volunteer for many church related activities and organizations. She loved her garden and her home and fashioned a beautiful and welcoming space for herself and others throughout her life. She enjoyed travel, especially to visit Ireland, the birthplace of her Mother. She moved to Florida in 2013 and she and her cat became favorite and much loved residents at the assisted living community where they resided. Frances truly loved, and was interested in, everyone she met. The thoughtful attention she gave to others touched many lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward "Ed" Stephany; her daughter, Maureen Owejan and her son, Eric Stephany. Survivors include her son, Mark Stephany; daughter, Maryann Carapezza (Bill); seven grandchildren, Jon Owejan, Alex, Christopher and Grace Carapezza, Elliott, Elizabeth and Hannah Stephany; and two great-grandchildren, Seth and Ben Owejan. Also survived by much loved family members, Tom, Karen, Melisa and Jeanette.
