Evalyn Betty Fry, 99 went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on February 23, 2019. She was born in Pierrepont Manor, New York on November 18, 1919 to Doris (Steele) and Willis Sampson, she was the oldest of seven children. She was married 60 happy years to Gerald Fry. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, two daughters; Faith Archer, Geraldine Teter, grandson Chad Fry, her siblings; Bernard Sampson, Ward Sampson, Ruby Sampson, Martha Sampson, Grace Hoffman, Kaye Olley.
Mother’s life was bounded by family. She had no greater joy that to know her children walked in truth. She leaves behind three children; Wesley Fry, Paula E. Fry, and Keith (Janice) Fry, sons-in-law; MD Archer and John Teter (Dolores), grandchildren; Tanya (Michael) Formica, Johnetta (Russell) Moore, Linda (Billy) McLeod, Maribeth (Tom) Allen, Carl (Jan) Archer, three great granddaughters; Kelsey, Emily and Taylor. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Eva Sampson, and brother-in-law George Hoffman, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Mother worked many years for Stetson Fleming and Sons but her real work and love was being a wife and mother and making a happy home and following in the footprints of her God. She moved to Florida in 1951 and has been a part of the family of God in the First church of the Nazarene all these years. Her life was filled with being a Sunday school teacher, her missionary work, and her great love for those of her Sunday School Class called the Homebuilders. Her life has been a great adventure surrounded with God's love.
A funeral service will be conducted 11am, Monday March 4, 2019 with an hour visitation prior, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
