Ercilia “Aurora” Suarez, 91, of Tampa passed away on November 4, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Lorenzo) and their children, Cynthia and Richie and son Richard (Phyllis) and their children, Jennifer and Bobby. She is survived by a total of 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aurora was born on May 15, 1930 in Santiago, Dominican Republic to Raul & Filomina Hernandez. In 1955 she married Jose Manuel Suarez aka (Pepe). Aurora has two daughters, Silvia and Rosana and a son Raul from her previous marriage.
Aurora had a passion for cooking for family and friends and was famous for her black beans, boliche and yucca. She also loved to travel on Cruises, play the slot machines and gardening at home. She was an avid music lover and had a crush on Julio Iglesias. She was known for her quick wit, and her infectious smile.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose, three sisters and three brothers, Gloria, Tonila, Amparo, Casimiro, Adolpho and Adelso.
A Funeral Service for Ercilia will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Entombment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ana, Martha, Ludmila and all of the staff at Gardens of Time Alf for all of their wonderful care and love while Aurora stayed with them.
