Elaine Carol Brown

Elaine Carol Brown, 69, of Riverview passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital located in Tampa, Florida on June 11, 2024 due to heart failure. Elaine was born in Tampa, Florida on September 8, 1954 to her mother Beverly J. Olson and her father Harry Lee Barrs. She attended Brandon Senior High School.

Elaine worked as a legal secretary for many years in the city of Tampa and enjoyed participating in many hobbies including gardening, crafting, fishing, as well as shell hunting at various beaches. She was an avid animal lover who rescued various dogs and cats throughout her life. Elaine is survived by her son Michael (Krystin)Barrs, her spouse Richard Owens, and grandson Lucas Barrs. She is also survived by her siblings Cynthia and Ralph Barrs. Her surviving cousins include Yvonne, Diane, Loretta, Wayne, Wendy, and Larry J. Elaine was also a loving aunt to 6 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Beverly, her father Harry Lee, as well as her brother Ronald.

Elaine loved spending time with her family. She would always find a way to bring out the joy in those around her. She was a kind soul who would do anything to help a person in need. Elaine will be remembered for her profound strength as well as her ability to overcome great challenges.

Elaine was a loving and hardworking mother to her son Michael. She provided for him as best as she knew how. She was a young mother who decided she would do what she needed in order for her son to have the life she wanted for him.

She was truly loved by those around her and will be missed terribly.

Memorial services will take place on June 25, 2024 at 11AM at the Blount and Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10:00AM -11:00AM.
