E. Jackson “Jack” Boggs, 91, passed away at home on January 19, 2023, in Tampa. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Sterling Boggs and his first wife Sue Ellen Boggs. He is survived by his wife, Yvette Boggs, his children by Sue Ellen Boggs, Kristina Boggs, E. Jackson Boggs Jr., and Whitney Boggs Storick, his sister Mrs. Lionel “Jeri” Etheridge, and his brother Mike Boggs, seven grandchildren, Blake Thaxton, Rachel Boggs, Joshua Boggs, Matthew Boggs, Rebekah Boggs, Taylor Boggs, and Jackson Storick, and three great grandchildren.
He was born on February 16, 1931, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Clarence Boggs and Kathleen Taylor. He grew up in Cumberland County, Virginia, and graduated college (’52) and law school (’57) from the University of Virginia. He served in the United States Navy and retired as a Commander. He married Sue Ellen Jennings of Huntington, West Virginia, and moved to Tampa, Florida in 1961. He joined the Fowler White law firm, where he became president and shareholder, and helped clients with taxes, pension and profit sharing plans, and estate planning, for over 50 years.
He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. He was a member of the United States Law Firm Group, the Krewe of Gasparilla, and the Rotary Club.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 906 S. Orleans Ave., Tampa, Florida 33606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
