David J Griffin

David J. Griffin was born in Boston on December 18th, 1953. He went to school at the prestigious, Boston Latin and studied undergrad and grad at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst graduating with a Master’s Degree in Education. A successful entrepreneur, he was the President of Fidelity Energy for over a two decades and married Pamela Tyree on October 2nd 2004 in Springfield, MA.

Both were veterans – David of the Army and Pamela of the Air Force. Dave retired as an US Army Aviation helicopter pilot. He was very proud of and humble in his service to his country. He became part of aviation history when he took part in Task Force 158, the provisional aviation unit that was the Army's first special operations aviation unit, the forerunner of the 160th Aviation Battalion, Night Stalkers. Dave served on active duty and then retired out of the Massachusetts National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer. Always driven by a sense of duty to others, he later volunteered for the Coast Guard Auxiliary where he performed as an outstanding leader.

David is preceded in death by his parents Isabelle and William and his brother Paul.

David is survived by his wife, Pamela, his brother William (Linda) and his Children, Catherine, Christopher, Drew (Keiko) and Charles (Amanda).

Burial will follow at Bourne National Cemetery in Cape Cod Massachusetts on October 19th.

A visitation for David will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 SILVERMILL DR, TAMPA, FL 33635, followed by a funeral service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
