David Imtiaz Ali, age 63, passed away suddenly on May 20, 2023 while on vacation spending time with the love of his life, Maria. He was born in San Fernando in Trinidad and Tobago. After his father moved his family to the United States, he grew up in New York attending Jamesville-DeWitt High School and later earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force starting in 1977 of which he retired after 20 years of service in 1997. David then worked briefly at the United States post office in Tampa before starting his second passionate career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, completing 24 years prior to his passing.
David loved driving and traveling on long road trips where he could venture and enjoy the beauty of America. There was never a stranger in David’s life as he enjoyed conversing, sharing knowledge, experiences and his unique humor with anyone he met. Throughout Davids life he poured his love and devotion on his wide spread family and treasured friends, taking pleasure the most in offering support and guidance to the next generation.
He is predeceased by his father, Twyab Ali and his niece, Heather Grosso. David is survived by his loving wife, Maria of 27 years; son, David; his mother, Zaleka; his sisters, Jameela and Arlene “Chile”; nephew, David Grosso and his wife, Ann along with their children, Vanessa, Theresa, and Christopher; niece Shannon Nesterowicz; much loved Uncles, Aunts and cousins in Trinidad; sister-in-law, Rose and her husband, Frank and their daughter, Iliana; children Colin, Destiny, Brianna and McKenzi ; his brother-in-law, Eddie his wife, Linda along with their daughters Sophia, Miranda and Jessica and her husband, Raul; great nieces, Xyris and Rhiannon; great nephew, Logan; along with loving friends and co-workers.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10am at Blount and Curry Carrollwood located at 3207 West Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. The family will receive friends one hour prior starting at 9am. Following the service, the family welcomes you to stay in sharing more memories during a reception before military honors which will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. at 1:30pm.
