Clarence "Howard" Boyett passed away on May 8, 2022 at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with cancer. Howard was born in Indian Pass, Port St. Joe, FL to Steven Franklin and Bessie Todd Boyett. He attended school in Apalachicola, FL and attended high school at Chapman High School until his senior year, when his family moved to Tampa. He was a 1956 graduate of Hillsborough High School. After high school, he served for 3 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Howard spent most of his career as a salesman for corporate accounts in the automotive and air conditioning industries. He was an avid golfer for many years, enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing and the outdoors but he mostly enjoyed visiting his family and friends in the Apalachicola area, where he loved to eat fresh seafood, especially oysters. He made many dear friends while cruising, touring and traveling in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.
Howard was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gloria Harper Boyett, his brother Lawrence "Duke" Boyett (Althea) of Indian Pass, his sister Mattie Luttrell of Lynn Haven, FL, 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his cousin, Tommy Ward of Apalachicola, FL and his beloved sisters-in-law Jeannette (Edward), Yvette, Elizabeth (Ed), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be provided by Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610, Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm with the service to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery immediately following the service.
