On Sunday October 7, 2018, only five days before her 86th birthday, Catherine Schlichte Arnone passed away in Tampa, Florida where she resided for nearly 70 years with her late husband Paul Lewis Arnone.
Catherine Schlichte was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 12th 1932 to Walter and Nora Schlichte and later returned there to attend Mount Saint Joe’s University after her family had moved to Tampa, Florida where she graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names.
Catherine lived briefly in New York City after college where she met Paul Arnone. The couple married in Tampa, Florida at Christ the King Catholic church where they remained faithful parishioners for the remainder of their lives. The couple raised four sons, Paul Lewis Jr., Steven Andrew, Anthony Joseph and John David.
Later in life, Catherine pursued her interest in the antique business and had several shops in Tampa and travelled throughout the Southeast doing antique shows and festival markets throughout Florida and Georgia. Catherine and Paul purchased a home in the mountains of Clayton Georgia where they spent a good portion of their retirement years. They loved Clayton and the rustic mountain living, but returned to Tampa in the final chapter of their lives.
The Arnone family invites you to celebrate the life of Catherine on Friday evening, October 12th, at Blount and Curry Macdill, 605 S. Macdill Ave, Tampa, from 6-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 13th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lifepath Hospice.
