YOUNG, Byron Eugene, 98, of Tampa, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenna Knick, of 61 years. Also, preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Lynn; parents, Harry and Edna Young and his sister, Ruth Etzler Wyan. He is survived by his daughters, Judy Sierra (Ruben), Joy Jones, 5 grandchildren, Chantel Diaz (Joseph), Ruben Eugene Sierra (Holly), Erin Jones (Justin), Justin Young (Stephanie), Ridge Williams (loving grandson and caregiver); 8 great grandchildren, Ashley Cotton (Joshua), Mercedes Brown (Matthew), Kaleb Sierra, Tyson Sierra, Aubrey Sierra, Haley Jones, Hunter Jones, and Carter Young. Byron also had two great great grandchildren, Aniya Rose and Drake Brown. His 3 nieces, Sharon Karns, Marilyn Skillern (Deceased), LaJeanne Riegel (Gary), Nephew Norman Etzler (Carol) were devoted and always checking on him and have shared much thoughtful memories of their uncle Byron. Byron served in the United States Army and was a retired veteran of WWII, a retired sheet metal worker known for his hard work and dedication. After retiring he continued to always be outside working on his many projects, caring for his family, but most known for cruising the neighborhood and beyond, on his little red scooter, collecting cans. We thank all of his loving neighbors and friends and they kept a watchful eye and didn't get tired of hearing that he was the first resident of our street. The family will receive friends for a Graveside Service, Thursday, March 4th at 11 AM at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa.
