Bonnie Thomas Birdsall, a gentle soul whose warmth and love touched the lives of all who knew her, peacefully passed away on March 30th, 2024, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 64. Born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, Bonnie's journey was one of love, faith, and unwavering devotion.
Bonnie's passion for the arts ignited during her time at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. However, her true calling lay in the realm of holistic wellness, where she became a beacon of light and healing in her community.
For over two decades, Bonnie dedicated herself to serving others as a Tai Chi and Reiki Master, sharing her gifts and wisdom through her own business, "Bonnie's Tai Chi." Her classes were not just about physical well-being but also about nurturing the spirit and fostering a sense of inner peace and harmony.
While Bonnie found fulfillment in her professional endeavors, her most cherished role was that of a mother. She poured boundless love and devotion into her son, Eli, and his fiancée, Sarah, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her love knew no bounds, and her family was her greatest joy.
Bonnie found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, from swimming and snorkeling at Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida, to spending tranquil moments by the beach, surrounded by the soothing embrace of the ocean. She explored her artistic talents and delighted in the beauty of comedy, bringing laughter and joy to all who knew her.
In her leisure time, Bonnie cherished the companionship of her dear friend Cay, with whom she shared many treasured moments outdoors, walking, watching movies, and enjoying girls' nights filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Bonnie's spiritual journey was a cornerstone of her life, as she found solace in meditation and a deep exploration of her relationship.
Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by her surviving relatives: her beloved son, Eli Birdsall; her brothers, Bradley True and Ben Thomas (wife Dena); her sister, Jill Thomas; her father, Roany Thomas; her niece, Emma H. Thomas Breslin (husband Jason); her great-nephews & nieces, Uhtred, Ygritte, and Theron Breslin; her aunt, Jay St. Vincent; and her cousins, Kelly, Oh Soon, Hannah, and Hank Spratt.
Bonnie's spirit will forever shine bright in the hearts of those who were touched by her love and light. Though she may no longer walk among us, her memory and spirit will live on in the laughter, love, and joy she brought into the world. Rest in peace, dear Bonnie. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
