WHITEHEAD, Billie D., 88, of Tampa, passed away October 27, 2014. Billie was a homemaker and interior designer, completely devoted to her family. She loved shopping and playing bridge. She volunteered for many years at Forest Hills United Methodist Church and The Children’s Home in Tampa. She was born on May 4, 1926 in Miami, Fl. and moved to Tampa during high school, where she graduated from H.B. Plant High School in 1943. After graduation, she attended the University of Tampa. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles W. Whitehead, Jr.; her father, William D. Davis; mother, Ione B. Davis; and brother, Carl Buckminster. Survivors include her son, Bud Whitehead and his wife Sharon; Her daughter, Rhonwyn Ratchford; 3 grandchildren, Rachel Gonzalez and husband Frankie, Andrew and Bob Ratchford; Canadian relatives, the Nadrofskys and Kniffens; many nieces and nephews; and all her loving caregivers over the past 10 years. Friends will be received on Thursday from 9:00AM until time of service at 10:00AM at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
