Belinda grew up and lived in Temple Terrace where she attended school and worked at Temple Terrace Elementary, Lewis Elementary, and best known for her work at Temple Terrace Presbyterian Weekday School as a preschool teacher, Librarian, and Music Teacher which became her 2nd home for 30 years. She won the Wittiest notable two years in a row in school and Teacher of the Year in 2000! For fun, she used her amazing creativity to make up children’s songs and even made up songs for all of her kids and grandkids. Some of the names that the kids would call her when they couldn't pronounce Mrs. Romano were "Rono", "Mrs. Mamanno" , and "Mrs. Romumbo" to name a few, but she was best known as “Sha-maw” by her grandkids. She touched so many lives, and made so many people smile with her quick wit, charm, and humor! Everyone described her as the life of the party! She could have anyone rolling and in stitches with her stories. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, and friend who showed up at every practice, rehearsal, recital, game, and performance that she physically could attend. She loved Firebirds, the color red, music, anything that sparkled, and most of all, her family. Her incredible spirit will live on through her children and grandchildren as well as all of her students she influenced with her amazing lessons.
Belinda was predeceased by her father, Clarence “Cowboy” Luttrall and mother, Margaret Luttrall. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Steve Romano; daughters, Heather Hulsberg and husband, Karl, Jennifer Lucier and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Logan Hulsberg and Zoe Lucier.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking anyone who wishes to donate in her memory to send their contributions to Temple Terrace Presbyterian Weekday School where she worked for 30 years! This is what she would have wanted as this school was her 2nd home!
