Arlene was born in Passaic, New Jersey to George and Elizabeth Sautner on November 30th, 1930. She attended and graduated from Passaic High School. She married Joseph John Rendzio on June 2nd, 1951, in Passaic, New Jersey.
She and Joe lived a life filled with ever-changing experiences. Starting in New Jersey, new opportunities would take them to a house on the Great South Bay in Long Island, a farm in Virginia and eventually, Tampa, Florida where they owned and managed a boat trailer company, Rolls Axle Corporation.
Arlene served as the company’s vice president until their retirement in 1992. She regularly attended St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lutz, Florida. Arlene had a passion for reading and demonstrated a diverse interest that spanned from history, non-fiction to adventure, and mysteries. She loved nature and especially loved her former pet dogs Heidi; (all three of them) who sequentially graced her life. On any given day, and into her late 80’s, Arlene could be seen tending her two-acre estate to include cutting grass or bringing down unwanted hedges. She was an avid bicyclist and neighbors could almost set their clocks by her passing each day, along her five-mile jaunt through the community. She was loved by all, and her quiet presence will be missed.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers George, Ernest, Henry, and Robert; and parents George and Elizabeth Sautner.
Arlene is survived by her children John (Bonnie Amson), Robert and Carol; sister Alice Hein; grandchildren Bryan, Jennifer, and Joseph and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family of Arlene wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the loving caregivers from Visiting Angels homecare, the caring staff of The Lodges of Idlewild and the dedicated nurses, assistants and doctors of Tampa Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center and Advent Health of Tampa and Connerton.
