Al D. Boatright, 88, passed away on Feb. 16 after a long illness. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be missed more than words can say. He was born April 19, 1933 in Twin City, Georgia. Raised in Tampa, Al was the oldest of five. Predeceased by his sisters, Kay and Itha; brothers, Harvey and Byron.
Al was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 397, and honored to receive his 70-year pin in 2022. An avid reader, deer and turkey hunter, he was a veteran, Mason and member of Belmont Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Libby; sons Tim (Julie), David (Noreen); grandchildren, Amy, Alyson, Scott and Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jayden; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Service for Al will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Belmont Baptist Church, 7830 North 56th Street, Tampa, FL 33617. A Graveside Service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 North US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service at the Church.
