Albert was born in Perry, FL on December 1930. He graduated from Leon High School in Tallahassee, and served in the Air Force for four years. Albert retired from the State of Florida’s Unemployment Compensation Bureau in May 1993. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, William H. and Effie L. Roberts; a brother, Clifton Roberts; three sisters, Eloise Krell, Voncille Martin and Versa Mae Roth, a son-in-law, Vance Robbins, and one grandchild, Anna Nicole Strickland.
Albert is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Bobby Ruth Roberts; three daughters, Marilyn Elaine Siets (Johnny), Charlene Robbins Head (Forrest) and Marlene Fay Strickland (Stephen); a twin brother, Elbert Roberts (Betty) and a younger brother, Clyde Roberts (Beth); 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Albert will be remembered for his gentleness and quiet strength. Friends often refer to him as “one of the finest men” they have ever known. He had a quick wit, an unfailing memory for names and faces and always had time to visit with family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 21, at Immanuel Baptist Church with interment following at Culleys MeadowWood Memorial Park on Timberlane Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, Immanuel Baptist Church or Southeastern Community Blood Center (OneBlood).
