William A. "Bill" Miller, 88, of Tallahassee passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road in Tallahassee.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, Bill received his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1946 after his service in World War II. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Carolyn (Widowson) Miller, until her passing in 2010.
Bill's previous employers include Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, the former Florida Department of Insurance and the Agency for Health Care Administration. He also worked briefly for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Miller; daughter, Sharon Miller; brothers Johnny and Harry Miller (Dover, Delaware); and sister Andy Dashiell (Salisbury, Maryland).
He is survived by his son, Tommy Miller (Gail); granddaughter, Jessica Miller Field (Charlie); great-granddaughter, Tallulah Mae Field, all of Tallahassee; and sister, Dolores Miller, of Florence, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Big Bend Hospice or the Wounded Warrior Project.
