A native of Birmingham, AL he came to the Tallahassee area following his retirement from Fairmont State College where he was a Professor of Biology. Everyone always looked forward to his pound cakes and cookies.
Those he leaves behind include his wife of 62 years: Nancy; sons: Mark D. (Sherri), Keith; daughters: Beck (Doug) Shuler, Kelly; sister: Frances Petway; grandchildren: Bryce, Bret, Cole, Kayla, Cullen, Bailey, Cane, Gray, Morgan and Bronson; and six great-grandchildren.
