Ronald Davis 77, passed away surrounded by his family on September 30, 2022. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the only child of Rosser and Catherine Davis. He received his BA in Sociology and a MS of Urban and Regional Planning from Howard University. After working for the National Capital Planning Commission he returned to Howard University to teach Urban Planning for a number of years. He conducted numerous research projects for the American Institute of Planners/American Institute of Architects and the National Science Foundation. He became the housing Administrator for Howard County Maryland. He later relocated his family to Tallahassee to take a Bureau Chief position at the then Department of Community Affairs and later moved on to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. He finished his career with various consulting positions until retiring to care for his parents. He had a wealth of historical knowledge and enjoyed sharing it. He enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzle, writing notes to family and friends, movies, and good bourbon. Ron will be greatly missed. Left to cherish beautiful memories are his wife of 53 years, Estelle, his daughter, Tracy, Granddog, Jayda and a host of relatives and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place in Lynchburg, Virginia at a later time. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his name to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Big Bend Hospice.
