Robert Michael Pruitt

Robert Michael (Mike) Pruitt, 67, of St. Marks, Florida, passed away March 14, 2016. He was born in Shelbyville, TN, on October 14, 1948. Mike graduated from Gainesville High School and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University. He was married to Glenda G. Pruitt on January 10, 1981. Mike was the President of Pruitt Humphress Powers and Munroe Marketing and Communications Inc. since 1972. In addition he served as the Director of Marketing at Duperon Corporation located in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a gifted artist and creative soul. He used these talents both in his work and in his contributions to the community of St. Marks. He was a former Commodore of the St. Marks Yacht Club, recently the Chairman of the St. Marks Stone Crab Festival Committee and a Member of Waterfronts Florida Partnership. He had a passion for historic St. Marks and sailing.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Howard Pruitt. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda; his mother, Ellen Pruitt; his great aunt and uncle, Jean and Dan Stiltz; his daughters, Casey Pruitt (Fred) and Liza Myers (Jeremy); his step-children, Jimmy Carr (Susan), Tammy Bollhoefer (Marc), Stacie Buda (Rob); ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home at 700 Timberlane Road. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the same location with interment following at St. Marks City Cemetery in St. Marks, Fl. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leon County Humane Society, 413 Timberline Road, Tallahassee, Florida, 32312 or a charity of your choice.
