This week your memorial reef will be deployed.  It’s been a little over 3 months since you left this world and moved onto the next.   I thought by now I would be to adequately express how missed and important you are to me.  I was wrong.  There’s just no way to describe it.  I feel very thankful that I was able to say goodbye and tell you how much I love you.  You weren’t “just an uncle.” You were “Uncle Bob”.  Thank you for being the kind gentle soul that you were.  


Dear Ann and Family:

I am so sorry to read of Bob’s passing. I have thought of you and Bob so many times through the years. Just recently I tried to find a telephone number for y’all.  I regret not calling the number I found.  It would have been great talking and reminiscing, but sad to learn of Bob’s health problems. I know he was a fighter and that he gave it his all!

I have nothing but fond memories of Bob; so many delightful memories that I would like to share; however, I am limited to so many words on here!

 He was a big-hearted, intelligent, giant of a man!  Bob made the world a better place!

Lean on our Heavenly Father, your family, your friends, and all of those beautiful and blessed memories that you shared with Bob. All of these will help you through this difficult time.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything that I can do for you, or if you just want to talk, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

There is one more bright star in the sky, which lights the sky like Bob lit up our lives with love and laughter!

Within my heart there is a cherished piece stolen 50 years ago at Clark AFB  by a sweet, very handsome ‘older’ guy all of seventeen. 
My first crush?  In deed! 
For weeks my parents had listened to me swoon over the lifeguard at the pool, named Bull Durham; on. and on at our dinner table. 
A few days before my birthday, I was hanging out at the pool. My mother came to the fence, signaling from the other side for my attention. In one deep breath I swam underwater across the pool and I surfaced at the edge of the pool where  to my complete surprise, you squatted down and asked if I had plans for my ‘big’ birthday. “I finished climbing out of the pool and fairly floated over to the fence to my mother. “Standing there dripping wet in your her  bikini and hardly able to breathe, much less sentence in confidence whispered, “Mom! Bull asked me out!!”
Late afternoon on July 15, 1970 my goofy 11 year old brother, perched on his bike with the banana seat at the end of our circle, waited for your car that evening. And then the very moment he laid eyes on your car, at the top of his lungs peddling as fast as he could, he announced your arrival by yelling “Baaarb! Buuulll’s heeere!” 
I. Could. Have. Died. 
I can hear my dear father’s wonderful chuckle, still.
I will always count you, Bull Durham, among the very best of my fellow BRATS.
Go rest high on that mountain, dear man. I carry you in my heart and say a prayer for you when the memory of that birthday, long ago and far away, comes by again.

Bob-was always so loving and caring to me and my family.  He always checked on Dennis.  So smart and funny.  Loved Halloween and always had so much fun with the trail at Tallahassee Museum.  He will be missed by many.  
Ann -you were the love of his life.  I loved to hear him talk about you.  My heart hurts for you.
