Phyllis Ann Williams Traylor

Phyllis Ann (Williams) “Granny T” Traylor passed away peacefully after a short illness at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, on December 1, 2014. She was 79. Phyllis is survived by her son, Donald “DT” E. Traylor, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL.

Phyllis was born on August 16, 1935 in Chesterfield County, VA, to Buck Williams and Louise Cole, who have both predeceased her. She graduated high school in Chesterfield County where she met the love of her life, Donald E. Traylor. Phyllis and Donald were married on July 6, 1959 and had their only child Donnie in 1960. They moved to Tallahassee in 1962. She was widowed early when her husband Donald died in 1975. Knowing it would be a challenge as a single parent, she dedicated her life to ensure their child Donnie was raised lovingly in a safe and secure home.

Along with her son, Phyllis is survived by her brother, Leon Williams who resides in California. She is also survived by many other family members throughout the country.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital’s Neuro Intensive Care Unit for giving Phyllis compassionate care and comfort as she prepared to be reunited with her long lost husband, Donald, in God’s Kingdom.
