Peggy G. Cervarich, born Peggy Maudathel Giles, beloved mother, sister, grandmom and GiGi, a resident of Tallahassee, Florida, went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 6, 2020, at the age of 86. She was born in Inman, Virginia to Roy and Lucy Giles on May 7, 1933.
She graduated from the Pulaski Hospital School of Nursing in 1953, passed the University of the State of New York Licensed Practical Nurse requirements in 1976 and obtained her Real Estate License in Washington State.
She enjoyed being active in her children’s activities while they were growing up (school, church and Girl Scouts) and gardening, pottery, sewing, anytime she could be at the beach, annual trips to Lake Chelan, WA, dancing, bowling, the Italian Club, bocce ball, cooking, playing cards and the penny slot machines, and traveling, but mostly, she enjoyed being with family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, John Cervarich, Jr., Las Vegas, Nevada; her father, Roy Giles; mother, Lucy Giles, and sister, Devotia Clark, all of Duffield, Virginia.
She is survived by her brother, Audnia Giles (Barbara), Duffield, Virginia, her children Diane Blanton (Steve), Tallahassee, Florida; Genie Cervarich, Bothell, Washington; Caroline Cervarich, Lake Stevens, Washington; John Cervarich, III (Sue) Moorpark, California; nine grandchildren, Reid (Kathy) Blanton, Derek (Amanda) Blanton, Mike and Christina Strasser, Adam and Jacob Siefertson, Taryn, John-Michael and Angela Cervarich; six great grandchildren, Liam and Lily Strasser, Sarah, Trent, Ashley and Bradley Blanton and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members who will miss her very much.
While we were not ready for her to go, we know she is in Jesus’s arms and dancing with our dad (she and he could always dance circles around the rest of us) and can only imagine her reunion with family and friends that pre-deceased her.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Shriners Hospitals for Children at https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc/ways-to-give1
