Norma Jean Strickland

Her family moved to Marianna, FL in 1949. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Education at Florida State University. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, and her greatest hobby was reading and ever learning. She was a lifelong companion to her daughter Pam, and she loved spending time with her pet cats Tuffy, Katrina, and Bella.

She was a loving wife to Frank Kelly Strickland.Their family properties were across the street on Hwy 73 in Marianna; this was where they fell in love in college while attending Florida State University. They were married in 1950 and had a close knit family with their children Pam and Frank.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kelly Strickland; daughter, Pamela K. Strickland; mother, Lytrelle Thomas; and grandparents, George and Sally McDowell.

She is survived by her son, Frank T Strickland; and second cousin, Lee and wife Dianne Turner of Jacksonville, FL.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2020, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Celebration of Life services will follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in MeadowWood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform a random act of kindness or donate to a charity of your choice in her honor.
