Marie Bruner, age 79, of Tallahassee, Florida died peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was born in Panama City, Florida and grew up with her parents, Lyle and Marie Wilson, and brother Burton in rural north Florida. In this setting, the seed for her love of family, the outdoors, wildlife, gardening, pets and horses was well tended and nurtured. This foundation was never lost and endured her entire life.
She followed the calling of her heart to tend the ill by first becoming a Registered Nurse, then teaching and mentoring future nurses at TCC and finally as Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Family, friends and colleagues respected and loved her commitment to her patients, her willingness to give her all to healing care and her sincere, grounded compassion.
As much as she loved her work, Marie loved her family more. She balanced her work and family life with astute understanding for both. She poured her heart into her daughterly, wifely and motherly roles.
Marie’s joy shone all about her, especially with her tender and concerned care for sons Shepard and Calvin, grandchildren, Logan and Alex and husbands Calvin and John. All her pets thrived in her tender care, most recently Black Jack and Little Bit.
Countless hearts are saddened by our loss of Marie’s physical presence, yet we know she is resting peacefully with God and her beloveds in heaven.
