Louis A. “Preacher” Rocco, Jr. 88, of Tallahassee died Friday at Capital Regional Hospital. A native of Quincy he lived in the Quincy and Tallahassee area all his life had owned and operated Rocco Pipe & Supply Company for over 50 years.
He was a veteran, having served in the Army Air Corp and also was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, served on the Board of Directors for the Marine State Bank and also served as President of Mackery Woods Landing Association in Sopchoppy. Preacher Rocco enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly squirrel hunting and was always very attentive to his dogs. Everyone knew he was a good cook and enjoyed cooking when he got the chance.
Survivors include his sons: Louis A. “Rocky” (Laura Jo), III of Alligator Point, Michael R. (Terry) of Crawfordville, Richard O. “Ollie” (Debbie) of Tallahassee; daughters: Toni (Joe) Schenck, Josephine (Lyle) Diehl, both of Tallahassee; sister: Claudette Gatlin of Woodville; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
