On Monday, October 18, 2021, Joyce McGhin passed away after a short stay at the Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, at the age of 95. Joyce was born in Isla de Providencia, a Caribbean island that is part of the Colombian department of archipelago of San Andres and later moved to Panama. While in Panama she met her husband, Clifton McGhin, Master Sergeant, U.S Army. They were stationed in Nicaragua, Italy, Germany, and Virginia. They had two sons together, Timothy and Patrick.
Joyce was a teacher’s aide with the Leon County School system in addition to raising four boys. In her later years she enjoyed drives to “see the water”, hamburgers, pizza and watching TV.
She is survived by her three sons, George McGhin, Richard (Helen) McGhin, Timothy (Lori Dunlap) McGhin and daughter-in-law, Kathy (Patrick) McGhin. Grandsons, Jason (Jennifer) McGhin, Justin Smith, Jon (Rachel) McGhin, Dalton (Jessica) McGhin, Garrett McGhin and Baby James McGhin. She has four great grandchildren. Her cousin, Patsy (Dennis) Gardner.
Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved husband Clifton, youngest son Patrick and many other loved ones over the years.
A special thank you to both Tammy McGhin and Mitzi McGhin for their role in assisting Tim with taking such great care of Joyce, allowing her to stay in her own home until her final days.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
