John Francis Kearney, 91, of Tallahassee passed away at his home Saturday (6/13). John was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, served in the US Navy as a radio operator, then worked for Pan American Airlines where he had been a flight radioman. While travelling abroad, John met his lovely wife, Irene who was a stewardess for Pan Am.
John and Irene had four children and eight grandchildren.
John was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and had been very active in the men’s choir, the catholic charismatic renewal, was a youth confirmation instructor, member of the Knights of Columbus and led a Bible study group. John enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of the Barber Shoppers Choir.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Irene; children: John of Halifax Nova Scotia, Jill Rath of Eustis, FL, Yarrow Pellbring of Bartlett, NH, and Rick of Tallahassee; brother: Bill; and eight grandchildren.
