He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Collins Bradberry and his parents, Carey Jackson Bradberry and Verna Neel Bradberry. He is survived by his two daughters, Sheila Lanier (Steve) of Eastpoint, Florida and Sharon Bradberry of Tallahassee and two grandchildren, Matthew Miller of Tallahassee, and Maya Levy of Tallahassee.
John was born in Greenwood, Florida on May 1, 1928. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1946 and was on the basketball team where he made all conference and all state his senior year. John loved sports his entire life and was an avid Florida State Seminole fan. He was a Seminole booster for many years and had season tickets for football, basketball, and baseball.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1950 and served his country while being stationed in Germany. Upon his return home, he attended Chipola Junior College and then attended Florida State University where he graduated in 1958 from the Business School with a degree in marketing. He was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield for nearly 25 years and after retiring from there went on to successfully continue working independently in the insurance industry.
John was a Christian and a member of Seminole Baptist Church. He was known for his honesty and integrity, and he was a wonderful husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family, but there is immense comfort in knowing that he and his beloved wife, Yvonne, are reunited in heaven.
