Jean was born on August 29, 1942 in Shelbyville, Indiana, to Crystal & Frank Hull (both deceased). She married Ronald Rucker on September 2, 1960.
She worked in the trust department at American Fletcher National Bank in Indianapolis, Indiana, for several years after she was first married. She was employed as a clerk at several sporting goods stores over the years in Frankfort, Indiana. She was also a teacher’s assistant for a handicapped boy at Frankfort Senior High for two years. After moving to Tallahassee, Florida, she was employed by Carroll Appraisal Company as a bookkeeper. Her last employment was with Publix as a cashier, where she was a loyal employee for 12 years.
Jean will be most remembered for her unending care, love and support of her special needs son, Gregory, up until 6 weeks before her death.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Ronald Rucker, her oldest son: Phillip Rucker; her daughter: Tina Rucker; her youngest son: Gregory Rucker. She also has 5 grandchildren: Jordyn Fetter, Megan Rucker, Justin Rucker, Matthew Rucker, and the most recent addition, Malachi Rucker, along with a daughter-in-law: Stacie.
Friends may call at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road location Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM. Services will be Thursday (8/31) at 10:00 AM in the Culley’s MeadowWood Chapel, Timberlane Road. The family suggests memorial gifts to United Cerebral Palsy in lieu of flowers.
