Jason Matthew Walters, 43, passed away on October 14, 2020. He was born in Ormond Beach, Florida on January 5, 1977 to Barbara and Gary Walters. Jason graduated from Seabreeze High School in 1995 and continued his education at Florida State University where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, graduating with a business degree in 1999.
Upon receiving his diploma, he studied law at Stetson University College of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate and a Master’s degree in Business Finance. With law school behind him, Jason settled in Tallahassee and was employed at Hopping Green & Sams, PA until his death. He loved living in Tallahassee, and, faithful to his alma mater, was an avid Seminoles fan.
In 2016, he met and fell in love with his wife, Laura “Missy” Johnson, and they were married on March 18, 2017 during a beachside service at sunset. Together they enjoyed traveling and enjoying good food and wine, most memorably in Italy and Greece.
Jason was preceded in death by both parents, and he is survived by his wife Missy (stepchildren – Jacob, Kelsie, Zachary, Sarah), brother Steven (wife – Trinity, nieces – Sydney and Gabrielle), and his adoring golden retriever, Cooper.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will honor his life privately at Lighthouse Christ Presbyterian Church where burial will also take place. There will be a streaming service for friends and family at www.lighthousepresob.org.
