James Eugene Crosby, 67 of Tallahassee, died July 14, 2014 at his home. James was born December 26, 1946 in Bradenton, FL to John Thomas and Imogene (Platt) Crosby and moved to Tallahassee in 1950 coming from Bradenton, FL. He is a graduate of Leon High School, Class of 1965. After graduation, James enlisted in the Unites States Navy and served two tours in Viet Nam with the 58th US Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (Sea Bees). James was a member of the St. Marks Coast Guard Auxiliary while in his 30’s. His career as a semi driver spanned over 23 years with Coca Cola and the US Postal Service. James was united in marriage on April 14, 1969 in Gulfport, MS to his wife, Deborah (Swinney) Crosby, who resides in Tallahassee. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Wilson Crosby of Tallahassee. There will be no Funeral or Memorial services per Jim’s request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in James memory to either Big Bend Hospice or the American Lung Association.
