Both of his parents; his siblings: Richard Anderson, Mary Siggers, Elizabeth Hoskins, and Linda Braggs; grandchild: Antwon West all preceded him in death.
Named in honor of his maternal uncle James Daniel Williams. JD prided himself in knowing his legacy would continue through the lives of his children and grandchildren. He instructed his children to promise that every boy born would have his initials and namesake. He vowed that “if it’s a boy, his name must be J.D Anderson” He doted on his family and always shared their successes and accomplishments.
James was affectionately known throughout the community by many nicknames to those who loved him, such as “JD, Jimmy, and Deek.” Jimmy was educated at Madison County Training School, and later attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL, where he studied upholstery and interior design.
During his early years, James attended church with his family and confessed Christ earlier in his life. James became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully for many years in different leadership capacities. “Deek” was chosen to become a deacon, a position he accepted with honor and continued in that role years later as a member of Genesis Missionary Baptist Church.
“JD” never met a stranger and always had a smile and a story to share with anyone who would listen. He was employed as a Day Treatment Case Manager at Apalachee Center Inc. and was also a familiar face at Norris Pharmacy & Norris Cafe for many years until his health began to fail.
James was deeply involved within his community and served in many roles throughout the years.
