Geary passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 19, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will forever be cherished by all who were blessed to have known him.
Born April 23, 1950, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to William and Mary Boston. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Geary started his long-time career as a Lineman in 1973, retiring in 1996. Married his wife, Lora Boston, in 1992 and spent 35 years creating a lifetime of memories.
He was a pillar of support and guidance, embracing fatherhood with boundless devotion, and selflessness. Always offering a comforting embrace and wise words of advice to his children, Victoria Bramblett (Donnie), John Garland (Terri), and Shannon Silvey (Jason). His unconditional love and unwavering commitment to his family were unparalleled, creating a foundation of stability and warmth that will forever remain with us.
Beyond his role as a husband, and a father, Geary’s unwavering love and affection grew around his grandchildren. He prioritized his grandchildren, Tessa Jordan (Derek), Tim Arthur (Alexandra), Chelsea, Kourtney, and Jonathan Bramblett, Ashlyn Gay (Jim), Ryleigh, Corbin, and Hayden Garland, Riley, and Bo, Dalton, Gracie, and Makayla Core, Rhian Silvey, above all else, providing for their needs and ensuring that he was always there cheering from the sidelines during sports games or taking the time to listen and support their dreams and aspirations, he eagerly embraced every role that grandpa “papa” presented. As Geary’s family grew, he blessed to enjoy eight great grandchildren and eight bonus grandchildren before his work here with us was through.
His kind heart knew no bounds, and he had an incredible knack for making those around him feel seen and heard. He had an infectious way of bringing joy and laughter to family gatherings and leaving everyone with unforgettable memories, especially our stuffed mice.
Though he is no longer physically present, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved him. His legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to guide and inspire his wife Lora and his children, Vickie, John, and Shannon, as they navigate life's journey without him.
A celebration of life service for Geary Lee Boston will be held at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, at 9:45 a.m. on August 11, 2023. The family request casual dress and no dark attire.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, a devoted father, and a true inspiration to all. Heaven has gained an angel, and while we mourn his absence, we also celebrate a life well-lived. May his gentle spirit find eternal peace.
Rest in peace, Geary Lee Boston. You will always be loved and profoundly missed.
