Evelyn was devoted Wife, Mother, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, Daughter, and friend. She retired from Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles after 31 years. During her younger years, she was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and The Woodville Women’s Club. She was devoted to The Woodville United Methodist Church for over 70 years. Known for her amazing hushpuppies at the annual fish fry and her banana pudding served on the fifth Sunday of Church. Evelyn enjoyed making memories with family and friends included camping, traveling, and spending time on the St. Marks River. As an avid Seminole Booster, tailgating and attending Bowl games were among a few ways she would support the Florida State Seminoles.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters: Martha Britt Linton and Susan Britt Browning (Wayne) of Woodville, FL; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Virgil Britt, brothers, Eddie and Herman, sisters, Helen and Raye.
Graveside service will be at Woodville Cemetery at 3:00 P.M., October 22, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Woodville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 687, Woodville, FL 32362.
