He was born August 2, 1990 in Tallahassee, Florida to Rayner Thompson Taylor and the late Ralph Lindsey Thompson, Jr. He was adopted by Dr. John Lewis Taylor, Jr. and raised in Thomasville, Georgia. He graduated from Thomas County Central High School in 2008 with honors. Ethan then went on to graduate from Georgia Southern with a Bachelor’s in Construction Management with a minor in business.
He was a Christian and member of First United Methodist as a youth. He attended The Gathering Church as an adult. Ethan was known for his contagious laughter and generous hugs. He loved traveling and everything outdoors: scuba diving, one wheeling, dirt road riding, four wheeling and mud bogging, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, golfing, boating and bonfires. He loved the simple things in life and spending time with his family and friends.
Ethan is survived by his mother, Rayner Taylor (Daniel Dunlop); brothers, Waylon (Shahn) Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Matt Taylor and Jake Dunlop; sisters, Tori Thompson and Bailey Barber; nephews, Brayden, Blaine, JB, and Beckett; and niece, Daisy; his aunts, Gloria Parker, Sandra (Charlie) Arthur and Linda (Marion) Sack; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his fathers, Ralph Lindsey Thompson, Jr. and John Lewis Taylor, Jr.; and his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Lala Thompson; and maternal grandparents, Paul Gibson and Carolyne Routt.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2pm at The Gathering Church in Thomasville, Georgia. A celebration of life bonfire will be held December 10, 2022, from 6pm – 9pm at the family farm, 9078 Courtland Way, Tallahassee, Florida 32311.
