Esther Hill Blanchard was born March 15th, 2021 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She had her brothers’ long legs and pillowy lips for kissing. She had her Mama’s beautiful blue eyes that drew comments from total strangers. Esther was named after one of the Bible’s most influential and brave leaders, Queen Esther, who changed the course of history.
Early in the pregnancy we learned of the high probability Esther had Trisomy18. Our prayer was that we would know her and be able to care for her every day of her life – no matter how short or long. We had that privilege for 6 weeks.
Esther met Jesus on April 28th, 2021. She passed in her Mama’s arms. We prayed over Esther, thanked God for her life and surrendered her to a good, good Father.
Esther’s life was beautiful and precious. She was so loved.
Esther is survived by her parents, Joe and Suzanne Blanchard, brothers Henry (4yrs) and George (2yrs), and loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Esther 4:14, “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
We will formally celebrate Esther’s life at Killearn United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 15th at 10:30am, in Tallahassee, Florida.
In honor of Esther's wonderfully made life, contributions can be made to the National Right to Life in the United States or Amistad International, a hospice care provider to children in South Africa. Web addresses are nrlc.org and amistadinternational.org, respectively.
