Ron and I first met Elston and Barbara on a coach tour from London (UK) to Scotland and back in 1972.  What a week that was!  Our friendship continued over the years meeting in London a an outstanding visit to Tallahassee in the early 80's.  We will miss him and his messages that we received each year at Christmas.  Our sincere condolences to all members of his family.  May Elston rest in God's peace.

What a fine gentleman, good family man, involved civic leader, and dedicated professor. I am fortunate to have known him as both Steven's dad and as one of FSU's most motivating political science teachers. Beth, Steven, and Chris should be proud of their father's many accomplishments.

Dr. Roady was my professor many years ago. I always enjoyed his stories about his past. I am sorry for you loss.

I count myself incredibly fortunate to have had Steve as a professor and to have been able to call on him for insight and advice during my years as a political journalist. He did more than teach about civics and government. As the obituary relates, he practiced civics; he went above and beyond what most citizens do to contribute to his community, state and nation. He influenced me profoundly. I deeply regret my inability to be in Tallahassee for the services, but I will be there in spirit. May his memory, and the memory of all his many good works, be for a blessing to you all.

What a life he lived!!  He was a blessing to all who knew him. Especially as my Tallahassee Dad.  I will miss his newsy notes that he wrote to me each year at Christmas.  My deepest sympathies to Beth and all of the family.

Dr. Roady made a huge difference in my life. He believed in me as a student at FSU and gave me opportunities to be the very best version of myself. I will always hold a special place in my heart for him.
